MBB is a women-owned firm led by Mary Burnham, Sara Grant, and Jeffrey Murphy. Founded in NYC in 1998, we are an award-winning, interdisciplinary, and diverse team of 28 people—including architects, preservationists, sustainability specialists, and interior designers. MBB offers full-service design from the earliest planning and study phases, through concept development and design, to the construction management and completion of built projects. We are a collaborative practice driven by a shared vision of inclusive and sustainable design, technical innovation, and rigorous, research-driven decision-making. Although we employ cutting-edge, 21st century design and construction technologies, our approach to architecture and design remains steadfastly contextual and human-centered. We are known for designing architecture finely tuned to the unique conditions and challenges of every project. We deeply engage with our client’s communities to ensure we deliver solutions that embody our client’s missions and values. We celebrate community members as experts who should be deeply involved in determining their own built environment.
