Drake Bennett Summer Schools New York. Drake Bennett Summer Schools, formerly the Sunset Learning Center, began offering full-day (8:00-6:00) academic summer programs for elementary school children in 2006 in San Francisco. In our first year we served 18 students for four weeks. Last year for the first time, our San Francisco summer school reached its capacity of 75 students per day for ten weeks. In San Francisco we offer an enrichment track for thriving students, and also a multisensory remediation track for kids who are just as smart as the enrichment kids, but for various reasons they still have some catching up to do. Our San Francisco June and July sessions in 2012 were held at New Traditions Elementary, at 2049 Grove (near Cole). Our San Francisco August session was held at St. Anne of The Sunset Church, at 850 Judah (at Funston). Thanks to the hospitality of The Epiphany School and the Archdiocese of New York, we offered a four-week program for the first time last August in Manhattan, at 141 East 28th Street, near the corner of Lexington Avenue. For our first summer in New York, we focused on offering the best remediation program possible for our 26 students.
