The Central Jackson County Fire Protection District (CJC) serves the citizens and visitors of the Jackson County, Missouri communities of Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Lake Tapawingo, and some unincorporated Jackson County. CJC offers fire and emergency medical response, fire training, EMS education, and fire prevention education and community relations events to a population of approximately 80,000. CJC employs 140 fire officers, firefighters, and supporting staff out of 6 facilities. CJC offers advance medical response and treatment capabilities from 60 paramedics, spread out through the crews and shifts.
