The Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka, Step Ri, was founded on August 8th, 2008 as a limited company (Ltd). Step Ri is owned by the University of Rijeka and is located at the new University campus. The aim of establishing the Science and Technology Park is to encourage the synergy between scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs of the Region. The establishment of Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka is supported by the Program TECHRO, which is aimed at the development of technology infrastructure. TEHCRO is funded by the Business Innovation Center of Croatia, BICRO Ltd. (through the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport of the Republic of Croatia) The Program encourages entrepreneurship based on innovation and new technologies.
