Hello. I started my career in #translating 8 years ago. But, I grew up multilingual. My first two #languages were Russian and Hindi, as I my late mother was Ukrainian and I was born in Bhilai, Madhya Pradesh. I learnt English when I started schooling in India and family moved to Mombasa, Kenya, when I was 7 1/2 y/o. I learnt Swahili (poor today) and French for 2 years in Alliance Francais. That made it 5 languages. Then, when I was 17 1/2, we emigrated to Israel under the Law of Return, 1950. I was eloquent in Hebrew within 2 months of arriving in Nzareth. I then graduated from High School in an English medium boarding School in Jerusalem where I honed my American accent, as most of my classmates were from the US. I worked in the hospitality industry for 2 years, 1 year in a Baking factory as a bookkeeper, 7 1/2 years in the Oil Refineries in the Import Department and another 7 1/2 in Delta Galil Industries Ltd. as the export compliance officer after completing a freight Forwarders and EL-AL Dangerous goods course. During the 25 years in Israel, having an aptitude for languages, I also learnt Spanish and started learning Arabic. So, that basically set me as learning 7+ languages. So, my love for languages got me to begin my professional translation career in 2012 and setting up this LSP that now has 380 registered associate linguists in our team. More than 200 hundred are to be registered with a variety of unique language pairs. So, we are more of a team that makes up an LSP which enhances our abilities as we work together as a team. Not on an employer/employee basis, but more like partners with a common goal and one that does not skin the cat.
