The Value Institute for Health and Care was founded in 2016 by professors Elizabeth Teisberg, PhD, and Scott Wallace, JD, MBA, as a collaboration between Dell Medical School and the McCombs School of Business. The institute supports Dell Med’s work in improving the health of people in our community as a model for the nation. The Value Institute is a critical resource to Dell Med in: • Research: Our research supports the implementation of novel, value-based care in Austin and beyond, accelerating health care transformation and enabling the Value Institute to serve as a nexus for shared insight among innovators. • Clinical Work: The Value Institute guides outcome and cost-measurement efforts for Dell Med’s clinical services. • Education: The institute develops and delivers education on high-value health care through executive education and a Master of Science in Health Care Transformation that will welcome its first class in 2019.
