The whole of society depends on excellence in research bringing better therapies to patients. Clinical research makes an essential contribution to this. Accordingly, at the Swiss Clinical Trial Organisation, we strive to see clinical research become increasingly valuable, innovative, and visible – countrywide. We aim for greater quality, so as to mine the very best from this important field of research. To this end, we are bringing together the finest, most curious minds and we have established networks and platforms to support them in their exploration and strategising, and with best practices. The SCTO is an independent organisation and is based on a joint initiative of the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences. As of 2017, the SCTO is a research infrastructure of national importance funded by the State Secretariat of Education, Research and Innovation and the Swiss National Science Foundation.
