Oversee and develop action plans for STEM education outreach and events that includes specific and measurable goals. Ensure that STEM education outreach and events are included in the state or branch budget. Serve as an advisor to the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME). Volunteer at TAME branch STEM events that occur in Texas. Attend local STEM conferences, distribute information about ASCE STEM programs and research, network with local STEM-focused groups, and explore other opportunities to collaborate at the local level. Speak to community groups about ASCE and STEM programs, and provide support to promote civil engineering as a career. Encourage branches to promote local STEM events on national social media outlets by tagging and sharing with their respective Facebook page, Twitter feed, LinkedIn or other social media platforms. Publicize ASCE STEM activities at CECON and other state conventions.
