Hike2Heal's mission is to help women & girls achieve full recovery from mental health illnesses - specifically depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and eating disorders - through outdoor experiences. We believe that the outdoors, and outdoor exercise, has the potential to help girls battling these issues: -Redefine their identity (outside of mental illness / ED) -Cultivate a healthier relationship with their body & mind -Find a community of like-minded women & role models to support them in the recovery process Through our programs, we hope to: -Help minorities gain access to the outdoors that they would not have otherwise due to financial or other constraints -Promote ideals of sustainability and responsibility in our interactions with the outdoors -Teach and exemplify healthy relationships with food, exercise, body, & mind
