The Macon Economic Development Commission (MEDC) was established in 1992 for the purpose of serving as the single point of contact for business & industry recruitment, expansion and retention projects in Macon & Bibb County. Since 2004 MEDC has assisted in locating and expanding 96 new and existing industries. This equates to 6,481 new & retained jobs, $1,593,317,690 in investment and 10,435,995 sq. ft. of new and existing buildings. In 2017, MEDC's mission has been re-crafted to concentrate on existing business retention and growth, small business and entrepreneurial development, talent retention and attraction and collaborating with our partners to enhance Macon-Bibb’s workforce.
