The Vrij Links (Free Left) Foundation aims to facilitate and stimulate the debate about progressive, liberal, left-wing values, in and outside of the Netherlands, because they are underrepresented in both the social and political domain. Our aim is to motivate people, who recognize themselves in this approach, to participate and help hone and strengthen left wing politics. Free and unrestricted debate, secularism, and a revaluation of individual freedom are all at the centre of this. Vrij Links aims to contribute to an open, multiform, democratic society in which the freedom and equality of each individual is guaranteed. Vrij Links focuses on political parties, opinion makers, academics and the general public, who traditionally are mainly, but not exclusively, on the left side of the political spectrum. The Foundation is not affiliated with a political party.
