Claims are the primary function of the VAC. The VAC assists in filing all Veterans Affairs claims which range from compensation for service connected injuries, aid and attendance, burial benefits (when applicable) and dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC). We also provide financial assistance to Lake County residents as long as they meet the required criteria. All staff members are certified by the Veterans Affairs General Counsel and attend training once a year to keep up on changing laws. The VAC’s Superintendent is an accredited attorney and is admitted to practice and represent Veterans at the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
