By the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the 1st April 2008, E-Government National Centre (EGNC) was formed under the Prime Ministers' Office. EGNC was formed as part of the continuous effort by His Majesty's Government towards achieving the e-Government initiatives. In His Titah in the year 2000, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam expressed his view to see Brunei going into the mainstream global Information Technology and the e-Government initiatives as a means to Brunei economic development.
