The Romanian Secular-Humanist Association (ASUR) is a nongovernmental organization established in March 2010 to promote the values of secular humanism. ASUR projects and campaigns are designed to popularize scientific knowledge and to highlight the attributes of a secular state. Our Mission The Romanian Secular-Humanist Association promotes ethical humanistic principles, critical thinking, scientific knowledge and the separation of state and church. Our vision ASUR members share the ideal of a democratic society, secular, based on freedom of conscience, thought and religion of citizens, a society where decisions are made based on critical thinking and freedom of expression. We want a society free of discrimination, based on humanistic principles, that would allow unrestricted reaching potential for its members. We are also convinced that this goal can be achieved only in a context where personal freedom is balanced with social responsibility.
