Our mission is to serve real human needs with practical 3D printing. 3DP4ME, means "3D Printing for ME (Middle East)". We are changing lives by bringing modern solutions to people with hearing loss in underserved communities in the Middle East. The challenge is: “In developing countries less than 3% of people who need a hearing aid are thought to have one." World Health Organization (2013) We want to restore the hearing of our clients! Our pilot project will take place in Jordan during 2021. As we start working with community partners to identify our first 50 clients with hearing loss – who will receive hearing exams and be fitted with a customized hearing aid. The overall vision is to create a state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing (3D scan/design/print) to provide a variety of assistive devices to underserved communities in the Middle East – starting with the launch of the Hearing Express program to provide 12,000 custom-fit hearing aids in Jordan. We are connecting with industry leaders across the globe, to help define a right-sized facility that can provide end-to-end custom solutions, along with training and R&D, for a much broader range of assistive devices, including lower leg prosthetics and orthotics. 3DP4ME is a registered 501c(3) nonprofit organization with the IRS, in the USA.
