The Jammu & Kashmir Policy Institute (JKPI) is a Srinagar-based independent youth driven think- tank—committed to building policy narratives around sustainable peace and development with focus on economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir. We at JKPI believe in facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues to bring in diverse perspectives and encourage constructive disagreements, critical perspectives and new cutting-edge creative problem-solving approaches on socio-economic and political issues confronting J&K and the larger South East Asian region. As an institution, we stand for Social Justice, Equality and Inclusivity to cherish and celebrate Diversity. We welcome people from all backgrounds and encourage participation in our projects by virtue of merit and shared values. We are a young and vibrant team who engage with the spirit of learning and unlearning through dialogues, research activities and on-ground projects. The JKPI operates as a convening space for multi-stakeholder engagement to initiate a shared vision-building process for development and peace that promotes a spirit of inclusivity and equality for all in the long run. Employing a strategic peacebuilding approach, the JKPI emphasizes the need for peace and security in the spirit of encouraging healing and reconciliation for long term positive peace in the valley, sustainable development on a number of priority goals and economic growth. The JKPI contributes and invites contributions, partnerships in the form of educational dialogue oriented seminars, panel discussions, opinion briefs, research papers, policy briefs, policy analysis papers and other creative projects.
