The Joseph Sams School, Inc., previously known as The Early Years, Inc., was incorporated in 1984 by a young group of parents seeking preschool intervention for their young children with disabilities. The goal of the type program being offered at the The Joseph Sams School is to support and educate individuals who will be productive members of society and who will experience greater independence in their lives. Each year the school has expanded its enrollment in order to meet the needs of the families requesting admission to the program. In 1992, the school responded to the request of parents and offered a full day programs for the first time in order that these children’s educational and therapeutic needs be better met. The school maintains a strong relationship with its families and has experienced support from parents and community members in developing the programs over its twenty years.
