Start of a challenge Nifco Korea Inc. was established in 1985 when the Korean economy has dramatically grown: in 1980s, the automobile and electric/electronic industries were emerged as a new driving force for the development of Korean economy as well as production efficiency was prioritized formass production. At that time, we became conscious of minimizing input components into assembly line, proactively developing the products that met the customers’ demands. In particular, the fasteners manufactured with the creative manufacturing knowhow based on the features of plastics that were light-weighted, non-corrosive, and available in precise process drove to simplify manufacturing process and cut costs in the automobile and home appliance industries, largely having contributed to improving production efficiency. As such, the products made with our Fastening Idea were a starting point of quiet revolution in a hidden place in the industry. Growth and development In line with the foundation, the company first released the fastener products in Korea, which was followed by the establishment of the differentiated product lines in 1990s such as dampers, latches, and hinges – the functional motion control product – and buckles and adjusters reliable in an extreme environment – the products for outdoor, sports, and fashion, and by the focus on the automobile industry in 2000s developing high-quality built-in parts such as air vents, cockpits, consoles, and facia and supplying next-generation washer systems, etc. cultivating the specialty as an automotive parts manufacturer. In 2010s, the company has expanded its business into high-quality engine and fuel system parts as well as parts for Electric Vehicle and established overseas corporations in major regions around the world, securing the comparable capability as a global manufacturer.
