www.integratedmentalhealthservices.comJeannie V Pasacreta, PhD, APRN, specializing in accurate & thorough evaluations, psychopharmacologic and psychotherapeutic treatment of complex psychiatric symptoms and disorders, especially those that have been difficult to treat in prior settings. Dr. Pasacreta is a seasoned researcher, patient and professional Educator, scientific writer and mental health advocate who strives to diminish the stigma that has historically diminished access to quality mental health services. Dr. Pasacreta's expertise pertains to the emotional consequences of chronic stress including domestic violence, child abuse and chronic medical illness. Her work is motivated by the fact that increasing numbers of individuals are experiencing psychiatric vulnerability while simultaneously encountering limited access to competent help. These factors among others are negatively affecting our collective national mental health and the issue is quickly reaching crisis status. Complex and interacting forces such as diminished support from stable close knit families, rapid technological advances without development of essential public education and changes in the infrastructure of affected systems, rapid globalization and a fast paced society that is obsessed with celebrity, wealth and dependent on instant gratification at the expense of realistic albeit long term solutions necessary to solve complex modern day problems that characterize present day American lives. Treatments to address rising prevalence of depression and maladaptive behaviors linked to increased rates of obesity, diabetes, and cancer are also critically needed and among my areas of interest and expertise. Further, as human longevity rises, risk for simultaneous medical and psychiatric problems is enhanced further increasing demand for quality mental health services that are widely unavailable.
