The PHUKET NATURE ELEPHANT RESERVE is an accredited & sustainable eco-tourism project located on the west coast of the tropical island of Phuket Thailand. Founded in 2019, elephant conservation is of the utmost importance to us, and the elephant’s welfare is our main goal. A proud member and internationally certified to the highest level of elephant care & welfare standards by the strict ACES (Asian Captive Elephants Standards) accreditation criteria. We offer visitors the chance to join our rescued elephants in their natural environment and experience a journey that will inspire, educate and leave you in awe! ABOUT US The PHUKET NATURE ELEPHANT RESERVE was founded by a passionate group of knowledgeable experts in the elephant welfare field. With decades of collective experience working with elephants throughout Thailand, the PHUKET NATURE ELEPHANT RESERVE was built in early 2019 with a goal of providing a safe, inspiring and sustainable sanctuary for rescued elephants. At the same time, enabling visitors to enjoy a fun range of educational activities with the elephants in their natural environment. By providing conservation through tourism, we strive to provide domesticated Thai elephants with a better home, away from the abuse and cruelty suffered in many of the popular elephant tourism attractions such as elephant riding, elephant bathing, elephant circus shows and more. Set on 30rai of lush jungle with hilltop views in close proximity to the beautiful beaches on the west coast of Phuket Thailand, the PHUKET NATURE ELEPHANT RESERVE team incorporated a strong emphasis on building a single-use plastic-free sanctuary, strict recycling policies and incorporating sustainable practices at every opportunity. All money raised from visits is used towards rescuing elephants, feeding them, providing veterinary care, supporting the local Mahouts and staff as well as constructing land and infrastructure for the elephants to live on.
