PFM-Africa is macro-fiscal and pan-African in orientation—with emphasis on expertise and professionalism that is based on exceptional knowledge of continental issues. Its comparative advantage is in driving a “home-grown” policy agenda that is based on global “best-practice” and standards. The entity’s programs, projects and events are in there (3) broad categories: a) Consultancy: derived from initiating proposals and competing for work from various market sources—mainly identified by the headquarters and associates, with who it collaborates to implement projects, research and other assignments. b) Capacity building and training: these may also be conducted with Associates, notably academic, PFM-Tax, bilateral and multilateral institutions (in the manner described in the Appendix 1 table). c) Representation, dialogue, advocacy and arbitration: special consultancy advice to commercially-oriented private- and public-sector clients—as interface with fiscal institutions in relation to policy, legislation, and operations.
