Royals Charities
www.mlb.comRoyals Charities strives to support children, education, youth baseball and softball, and military families in and around the Kansas City area. The foundation accomplishes this mission through financial grants of life-changing projects and programs. To date, Royals Charities has put over $18 million back into our community. Royals Charities efforts encompass all the ways that the Kansas City Royals impact our Kansas City community, including the Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy, Royals alumni efforts, the Royals Hall of Fame, and traditional community outreach initiatives. Through these combined entities, we are committed to providing a positive environment for our area youth. We will educate our players on what it means to be a “professional” while surrounding them with coaches, mentors, and role models who can teach them how to play the games of baseball and softball and serve as examples of good citizenship. In 2020, Royals Charities also created the Royals Respond Fund to address food insecurity and other urgent needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This effort supported organizations like Harvesters – The Community Food Network, Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center, and Don Bosco Center’s Meals on Wheel program, among others.
