St Marys College

St Mary's is the only Catholic all-girls school in Tasmania for Kindergarten to Year 12. We provide seamless transitions in the critical years between Years 6 and 7 and Years 10 and 11. As a member of the Alliance of Girls' Schools Australasia, we are also connected to national and international networks which allow for collaboration on and access to research on how girls learn. From Kindergarten to Year 12, staff and parents work in partnership to guide students towards their full potential in an environment based firmly on the Gospel values of tolerance, truth and love. We embrace a growth mindset and teach students to look for challenge and to build resilience, which is reflected in our educational vision, 'growing our love of learning'. At both Junior and Senior School levels, the College provides an extensive curriculum, alongside a diverse range of cocurricular activities, creative arts—including art, drama and music, a strong languages program, and a wide range of sporting opportunities. As a staff we are a Professional Learning Community. We meet in small teams and focus on aspects of teaching and learning, use research to develop best practice and utilise data to track if what we are doing is making a difference to student outcomes. We are excited about learning and meet each student where they are at.
