Rob Williams completed his doctoral degree in chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO., his post-graduate study and certification in acupuncture from Logan University in St. Louis, MO and his Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Williams has been very intentional in the design of his practice, doing many things to attract people who’re seeking a high quality healthcare experience that’s streamlined and highly effective. As he says, he feels very fortunate that he decided not to allow managed care, aka the health insurance companies, to get their hooks in his practice. Dr. Williams’ undergraduate study in Psychology has helped him gain a different perspective on how we respond to pain, and on the healing process itself, and he firmly believes his perspective has grown out of being able to give his patients what they truly need instead of being bound by insurance allowables. His forté has grown into helping his patient understand what's going on with their body so he can help them understand how they can participate in their own healing process. In addition to Dr. Williams’ study of psychology he also had a career as a studio potter. Through a true apprenticeship and then working in his own studio he came to understand and appreciate the design principle that “form follows function.” Eighteen years in practice has shown him that the musculoskeletal system works according to a very similar principle. Just as he produces pots on his wheel that perform their intended purpose such as pouring or serving, our musculoskeletal system is designed to be able to accommodate movement. Form follows function. As Dr. Rob and his staff work to restore more normal movement to the tissues so they can work as they were intended, the patient’s symptoms clear out on their own. Voila!
