Recoil Knee Pads are an award winning brand of knee protection and the professionals choice for those working in the trades and construction industry. Our Kneepads utilise a patent pending six-spring suspension system to absorb kneeling impact and spread pressure evenly across the knee. We are fully accredited to the European Standard for Personal Protective Equipment, EN 14404:2004 and our unique design is scientifically proven, by The University of Strathclyde, to reduce peak pressures on the knee joint by up to 76% - which is a 20% improvement on standard gel and foam alternatives available on the market. Recoil originated in 2013, initially as a final year product design engineering project at The University of Strathclyde. Vicky Hamilton (founder and CEO of Recoil) developed the product for her Tradesman Father, Gordon Hamilton. Gordon, a 45 year old Carpenter was struggling at work due to pain from the arthritis in his joints. His existing Kneepads were not suitable or fit for purpose and left him in severe pain at the end of a working day. Vicky developed the idea of a spring suspension system which would keep her Dad's knees well supported and reduce the pressure on his joint. In 2013, upon graduating University, Vicky registered VH Innovation Ltd, our parent company of Recoil. Following a 2 year development phase, and a 1 year manufacturing set up, Recoil officially launched to the market in 2016. Our products are manufactured in Scotland, UK. We ship internationally and boast sales in 20+ countries worldwide.
