In 2015, agency founder John Patrick relocated to Detroit to engage his curatorial approach to securing design teams for local clients including Library Street Collective, Prince Concepts, Greatwater Opportunity Capital, FIRM Real Estate, Kristi Bernick Enterprises, The Schvitz, Chabad Detroit and TIR Equities, among others. Commissioned in 2016 and completed in 2017, True North was the first project envisioned, developed, published, awarded and collected through ABOVE THE FOLD’s unique process, including being named one of 2018 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize finalists and winner of The Architect Newspaper's 2017 Best of Design award in the Multi-Residential category.
