Tech Turn Up is a non-profit organization that provides students with meaningful exposure to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) with a specific focus on computer science learning. Founded in Washington, DC, and became a 501 3c in 2018. Tech Turn Up provides a comprehensive STEAM curriculum designed to support K-12 students in developing fundamental technology skills from digital media, coding, design thinking, and audio engineering. Our approach to facilitating technology education programming is tied to youth development and the arts. We want Students to see technology as a tool to create and innovate things, not just how things are processed. People who are behind Tech Turn Up Tim Weedon I hope to inspire and encourage young people to realize their gifts and talents. It's not about memorizing subjects to take a test, but fully engaging, having fun with topics, and applying it to the real-world. I didn't think it was possible that learning could be so much fun until I started learning Scandinavia's and Finland’s teaching methods. Carlos Hood Carlos Hood, musician and educator is very enthusiastic about teaching youth skills to DIY. “Do it Yourself” is a challenge Carlos wants everyone to take with the intentions to empower youth in their future endeavors. After studying music at Morehouse College, Carlos jumped into youth development working for Boys and Girls Clubs of America while simultaneously recording a weekly podcast with his colleagues who were involved in the local Hip-Hop scene. Simone Wolynski Simone Wolynski earned a degree in Africana Studies and Environmental Analysis from Pitzer College. Simone found herself drawn to education as an intersectional platform to effect positive change.
