The Dome Company designs, manufactures and hires curved laminate timber geodesic dome structures for events and festivals. Our geodesic domes are used at public, corporate and private events throughout the UK and beyond. They are designed with performance in mind, ideal for both theatre and music and are truly portable, easy to transport and quick to erect. We have developed our own distinctive style for geodesic domes and are able to produce mobile, relocatable or permanent structures from 5 metres to 30 metres in diameter. Designs are developed in conjunction with an independent company of structural engineers and all structures are subject to engineering analysis. Our geodesic domes for hire are designed to receive imposed loadings for lighting, sound and other equipment and have excellent acoustics. Jobs. We take on freelancers on a project by project basis, depending on skill. Predominantly we take on people with skills in: Textiles. - Large scale textile fabrication on our covers. Metal. - There is a large amount of steel and aluminium structure in our domes, then work ranges from prep work to fabrication. Wood. - Our domes are made by pressing and laminating curved pine to achieve a more rounded geodesic shape.
