In 1888, Dillon Lewis Ross, graduated from the University of Iowa Law School and joined his father, Lewis, in the practice of law under the firm name Ross & Ross. At the time, the firm specialized in equity and real-estate law. In 1909, the Ross firm added to its name, Everest, Geiser, and Johnson. In 1928, Emmet Tinley I and the Mitchell brothers joined with Dillon Ross, as the firm Tinley, Mitchell, Ross & Mitchell. In 1946 Robert Stuart’s name was added to the firm. Mr. Stuart remained active with the firm until his passing in 1986. In 1958, the firm added Emmet Tinley II, who was with the firm until shortly before his passing in 2002. In 1961, Jack Peters was added to the firm name and he practiced until his passing in 1993. Gary Faust also served as a named partner until his passing in 2014.
