In 2008, Cowan turns 50 and celebrates its history of great conquests. Born from the entrepreneurial spirit of Walduck Wanderley and the competence of a committed team of managers and collaborators, the small company, established in the 1950s, became one of the leading companies in the heavy construction sector, the main branch of one of the strongest corporations in the country. Today Construtora Cowan is present in the four corners of the country, developing projects that stand out for their magnitude and technical quality standards. Roads, motorways, railways, airports, dredging services, dams, harbors, industrial facilities, buildings, bridges are just a few of the projects in the company’s portfolio, considered one of the most extensive in the national development industry. Many were the challenges our people overcame in the middle of the jungle, by the sea, in remote and inhospitable environments, working in adverse conditions under extreme tight time schedules. Always in tune with market trends, Cowan has since the late nineties operated in public service concessions. However, heavy construction is still the company’s core business. One of the latest projects of the company was the construction of an important stretch of Linha Verde, the greatest road complex under construction in Great Belo Horizonte in the last decades.
