China Herb was founded in 1991 by Cara O. Frank, R. Ac, Dipl ac & Ch. She has been a practicing acupuncturist since 1983, but it was in 1988 during internship at a traditional herbal hospital in Beijing, China in that she fell head first into a love affair with Chinese herbs, an affair from which she has yet to recover. Upon her return to the US, Cara immediately began to establish her own personal pharmacy for private practice. China Herb Company was born serendipitously as an extension of Cara's personal pharmacy, when other local acupuncturists requested that she fill formulas for their clients. Sensing a need for high quality custom formulas that honor both the tradition of herbalists as well as clients specific needs, China Herb began to offer its services nationally.
