Super Netball League Ltd

www.supernetball.com.au

A new era of Australian netball began on 18th February 2017. That was the day Netball Australia and Netball New Zealand officially parted ways. The old ANZ Championship was over. But out of the ashes rose something different: Suncorp Super Netball (SSN). A new national netball league, backed by Suncorp, Telstra and the Nine Network. Alongside existing clubs – the Adelaide Thunderbirds, Melbourne Vixens, NSW Swifts, Queensland Firebirds and West Coast Fever – we welcomed three fresh teams. GIANTS Netball, Magpies Netball Club and the Sunshine Coast Lightning. SSN quickly became the world’s premier netball code. The game has changed a little since those early years. Rivalries have intensified. Battle lines have been drawn. The competition introduced Bonus Points in Season 2, giving incentives for quarter-by-quarter wins. And in 2019, Netball Australia established the Suncorp Super Netball Commission – a new seven-person board. The Commission is now tasked with achieving the organisations vision of becoming the number one women’s sporting league in the world.
