Postage Stamp Wines
www.postagestampwines.co.nzThe small 'postage stamp' sized vineyard at the back of our house – the name was inspired by the size of the vineyard and the concept of a Penny Royal postage stamp – has been planted with Marsanne - Roussanne grapes (which are new to Waiheke). It is will yield wine in 2018. With the View East Syrah vineyard producing wine currently, including a Rosé and the Te Ara vineyard with the first harvest of Chardonnay available for release in 2018, we have the start of our dream. Plans for Postage Stamp Wines mean that wine lovers will eventually be able to purchase a mixed case of wine created from a selection of small boutique vineyards around New Zealand. "I want to be experimental and to produce a premier wine pushing the envelope on subtle varieties and tastes. The Marsanne - Roussanne is an early step in that direction. "Ultimately the story for Postage Stamp is that people matter, and who you choose to bring together around a wine label will define the unique character and personality of the wine they produce. I think it is one of those intangibles making wine so special," says Andrew.
