Detours Magazine is a travel magazine that features little-known treasures throughout the tri-state area of Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. It was first published in 1996 and is a student-produced publication out of Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. The publication has won multiple awards throughout its existence, including Third "Best Magazine" from SPJ's Mark of Excellence Awards in 2012 and CMA's Apple Award for "Best General Interest Magazine" in 2010.
