The operations of JLES commenced in 2011, in Thane location with just 15 candidates as an autonomous program. Mrs. Anisha Khilnani, Founder & Trustee-Jailaxmi Education Society says, “Youth are the backbone of the country they are the instrument of change and efforts should be made to explore the capabilities of youth”. Mrs. Khilnani further adds to her words saying, “It is not enough to be charitable, but rather being responsible to create opportunities for the ones that have not been so fortunate ”. Leading with this thought, Mrs. Khilnani took a step forward and ideated to bring JLES a social entrepreneurship project into existence. Considering Mrs. Khilnani’s hunger to empower the less fortunate, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., an American multinational investment bank and financial services company headquartered in New York City sponsored an MBA program in Women Entrepreneurship for Mrs. Khilnani. Later, JLES, a non-profit organization, was founded in the year 2011 with a sole aim to associate Indian Youth at a common platform irrespective of regional and cultural barriers to assert their positions as professionals of the new era of 21st Century. At present JLES is active with a band of hundreds of dedicated volunteers and Members extending their sincere support and cooperation in the achievement of their goals.
