In March 2019, US financial services leader Fidelity Investment (28 million individual investors, $2.45 Trillion global assets under management) started running its cryptocurrencies focused subsidiary: Fidelity Digital Assets. It was the first unquestionable sign of crypto-assets entering into a ‘‘institutional phase’’, which foreshadows their massive adoption. Music, hotels, movies and shopping have all gone through a bottleneck of digital disruption and emerged all the stronger. Now it is time for money to do the same.
