York Region Rapid Transit Corporation [YRRTC] is a wholly-owned subsidiary and share capital corporation of The Regional Municipality of York. We're also known as "vivaNext" - the name of our bus rapid transit projects. YRRTC is responsible for: -- planning, design and construction of the rapid transit network and related infrastructure -- pursuit of partnership opportunities -- strategic oversight of Viva operations We’ve accomplished a lot so far: -- 34.6 km of bus rapid transit to be open by 2021, as of the end of 2018 about 35% done -- 8.6 km Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension, open and in service, in partnership with the Toronto Transit Commission -- 481,679 sq. ft., LEED Silver-certified transit service facility Projects underway: -- dedicated lanes for bus rapid transit in Vaughan and on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill and Newmarket -- 7.5 km Yonge Subway Extension, preliminary design and engineering underway in partnership with Metrolinx and the City of Toronto -- 9-bay bus terminal in Vaughan Metropolitan Centre -- 11-bay bus terminal in Cornell, Markham Are you interested in working for YRRTC?
