Nonprofit Sector News
www.nonprofitsectornews.orgNonprofit Sector News covers all types of nonprofits, ranging from charities and foundations to labor unions and trade organizations, nationwide, with news, features, and investigative reporting. NSN's audience is the general public (and other journalists). NSN is not a trade publication for nonprofit employees, board members and major donors, unlike Chronicle of Philanthropy, Nonprofit Times, Nonprofit Quarterly, Nonprofit Pro, etc. NSN is the only regular news source for everyone about nonprofit organizations. NSN, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation, is tax-exempt under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) as of 4/4/2020. Nonprofit Sector News has six primary functions: 1) Nonprofit Sector News (NSN) covers news, feature, and investigative stories about all types of US nonprofits for the general public and other news media (not for nonprofits' employees, board members, major donors), including Patch.com. 2) NSN provides its original journalism free of charge to the general public through its website, LinkedIn page, Facebook page, and Twitter account. 3) NSN, which specializes in covering large nonprofits that are found in and/or affect every community, provides its original journalism free of charge to other news media on all platforms. 4) NSN helps to publicize US nonprofit organizations by increasing the amount of, quality of, and availability of original journalism about them. 5) NSN trains college journalism students in how to cover nonprofit organizations through an internship program that runs fall, spring, and summer semesters. 6) NSN curates a continuous selection of other news media’s coverage of nonprofit organizations, posting that content in its LinkedIn and Facebook pages, plus some of that content in its website’s Blog section.
