It is our mission to create a centre that promotes, teaches and nourishes the creation and appreciation of the arts, through educational programs, exhibitions, rehearsals and performances, that is accessible to everyone. The Elora Centre for the Arts is located in a restored, three-story limestone school building in one of Ontario’s most picturesque villages. The Elora Centre for the Arts consists of 10 large classrooms converted to provide in total over 10,000 square feet of dedicated space. The facility is an enhancement to cultural life in the region. ECFTA is grounded firmly in the belief that involvement with contemporary art, in all of its various forms, supports those living, working, and visiting here. We see the arts as necessary for wholesome lives. We provide educative and transformational opportunities and interpretive possibilities for all ages. We instill life-long learning through the arts. ECFTA has studio and rehearsal space, programmed exhibits, performances, residencies, lectures, workshops, symposia and forums. Music, Dance, Theatre, Literary, Visual and Media art forms provide cultural equity for our audiences. Ultimately, we see the Centre evolving as an institution of national significance.
