Company Overview Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell (HFHGL) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) ecumenical Christian housing ministry that has helped to build or repair decent, affordable houses, serving 16 towns in Northern Middlesex County. Greater Lowell Habitat works to strengthen families and communities through affordable homeownership opportunities. HFHGL works in partnership with corporations, like-minded community groups, faith-based organizations, and individual volunteers to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating simple, decent, energy efficient, affordable homes. We offer a Hand Up not a Hand Out. Since its founding in 1991, HFHGL has built or renovated a total of 49 homes in Bedford, Billerica, Concord, Lowell, Reading, Tewksbury and Westford. To date, HFHGL's largest completed project is an 8 home neighborhood, located located on Carter Way Bedford and 10 homes in the Acre neighborhood in Lowell which includes a neighborhood park. Along with building homes, HFGL also does Critical Home Repairs for the elderly, veterans and disabled. Today we have done 60 of these repairs. HFHGL has funded the construction of 77 homes globally. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell builds simple, affordable homes in our local communities. Many volunteering opportunities are available helping to build homes, work on Critical Home Repairs and help in our ReStore.
