Everyone agrees the U.S. needs to manufacture more of the critical personal protective equipment we rely on. This need won’t end, no matter how long the coronavirus pandemic lasts. It’s a certainty—at some point another pandemic, a war, a natural disaster, a trade battle, or something else will come along to disrupt foreign sources. To be prepared we need to develop local sources and plan to be self-sufficient.
