The Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ) is a trade union representing and advocating for the fundamental principles and rights at work of journalists. KUJ’s primary mission is securing, promoting and protecting the welfare, interests, and rights of all journalists. Its vision is to be a champion of workers’ rights, free and responsible media. Its main areas of activity include the following: Organising, representing and securing the interests of workers in the print and electronic media in Kenya. KUJ has close relations with the Central Organisation of Trade unions -Kenya (COTU) and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).
