Just Start IT is an 18 week High School Program that takes engaged learning to the next level through exploration, discovery, and creativity.Student teams work closely with industry mentors, creating technology enabled startup businesses to solve real life problems. We are in the business of creating job creators, not job dependents Each school class is assigned an industry mentor who works with the students for a minimum of one hour per week. The mentor works closely with the class teacher who delivers the rest of the material within his/her class time during the week, and the students are given tasks to complete for the following week. We create real world for students in their classrooms. We also offer a chance for students who may not always get the chance – to shine!! We open their minds to new pathways, offer new opportunities, and teach them life skills that will carry them through anything. We teach critical thinking, creative solution, team work, monetisation, budgeting, marketing, pitching, website development, branding, social media, app development and more… The second half of the year is spent helping the teams whose ideas have legs to get their ideas funded and up and running. Creating success stories is very much part of what we do. From our 2014 program we have 6 teams currently in discussion with corporations who want to partner with them to take their idea further.
