We operate as nuts'amaat shqwaluwun (people working together with one mind respectfully) guided by the teachings of our ancestors. Cowichan Tribes is the largest First Nations in British Columbia which is located in the Cowichan Valley, in mid-Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We are a significant economic contributor to the Cowichan Valley. In 1966 we opened our first Band Office, employing 3 people. Today, we employ over 700 people in our combined operations, making us one of the largest employers in the region.
