Studio Roso is an inter-disciplinary practice founded in 2008 by Danish designers Sophie Nielsen and Rolf Knudsen, after graduating from Design Products at the Royal College of Art, London. The studio fuses an interest in architecture, art and design to create poetic site-specific installations, each responding to the essence of the environment it inhabits. Studio Roso recreates the experience of the extraordinary, through every-day materials. They work intimately with materials, finishes, and light to create structures, which transcend the physical form, and produce responses which can be seen as emotional layers of the physical. They have been awarded numerous commissions for large public sculptures, private collectors and museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
