We are a rapidly growing for-profit sustainable tourism business founded in 2006. We now own and operate several hospitality and agricultural businesses near Mutianyu Great Wall, including the Brickyard Retreat, which has been recognised continuously as a Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice in 2013, 2014, 2015, and again in 2016. We have a pipeline of new hotel and other projects that will require building out our professional team. This includes operating managers based on site as well as key players based in our Beijing office where we have centralised sales, marketing, HR, finance, and business development teams. Our mission is clear -- respect people, operate legally and ethically, and provide provide our guests with pleasant experiences. Sustainability is much more than a buzzword for The Schoolhouse and we measure and report our programs and results publicly on our website. Jim Spear & Liang Tang, American expats who have lived in China for 30 years, are the founders and majority owners of our businesses and remain actively involved in leadership roles. Jim is a designer whose work has been featured in Architectural Digest and many other consumer magazines and professional design journals and was profiled in Great Wall Style.
