EM Wind designs and builds innovative vertical axis wind turbines (VAWT) with wired direct-drive generators. The turbines range from small to large scale and can be fit to power anything from limited electrical equipment to small communities. The designs are either drag (Savonius) or lift-based (Darrieus) and vary based on objective, location, and purpose. A Swedish company founded by professors at Uppsala University as Vertical Wind AB in 2002 but was acquired by Energy Machines™ in 2019.
