Eurits, the European Union for the Responsible Incineration and Treatment of Special waste, represents more than 90% of the EU's specialist hazardous waste incineration sector, and exists to ensure the safe, legal and environmentally sound incineration of waste. The organisation was established in 1994. Eurits members operate 36 plants in 12 countries with a total workforce of more than 4,500 treating approximately 3 million tonnes of hazardous waste.
