Lunar PAD
www.lunarpadteam.comLunar Plume Alleviation Device (Lunar PAD) is a project centered around developing a 3D printed launch/landing pad to be used on the Moon and other planetary bodies. We aim to solve the problem of plume and dust hazards from landing on extraterrestrial surfaces that currently prevent safely landing on the Moon near habitation. The project is led by U.S. undergraduate students and was first proposed during the 2019 NASA Proposal Writing and Evaluation Experience (NPWEE) competition, through which we earned initial funding and built partnerships to enable the successful construction and testing of a prototype Lunar PAD.
