The ALS Association serving 33 counties across Northern Ohio was founded in 1988 to serve the needs of those living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and their caregivers. Our mission is to lead the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lout Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS. ALSA covers all the bases — patient and community services, research, public education, and advocacy — in providing help and hope to those facing the disease.
